HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Ten years ago, I opened a small boutique in Dublin.

I didn't have a grand plan. Just a quiet conviction that clothing should do more than look good on a hanger — it should make the person wearing it feel like themselves.

That sounds simple. But it's harder than it seems.

I learned that early on. Watching people try things on with hope, and leave quieter than they came in. Not because they weren't right. Because the clothes weren't right for them.

Too stiff. Too short. Too much. Not enough. Made for a body that doesn't exist outside of a catalogue.

I started making different choices. Slower ones. Pieces I believed in — not because they were trendy, but because they were real. A jacket that actually sits well on a real shoulder. A dress you forget you're wearing. A shoe that still feels good at the end of a long day.

Five years in, my daughter Clara was born.

Motherhood changed everything — the way I saw time, the way I saw people, and the way I saw the clothes I brought into this boutique. I became less interested in what was fashionable and more interested in what was lasting. Less interested in the moment of purchase and more interested in the tenth time you reach for something because it just feels right.

One afternoon, Clara was playing with fabric scraps in the corner of the studio. She looked up and said:

"Mum, you make beautiful things."

She didn't know what she was saying, really. But I did.

This boutique was never just a business. It was becoming a reflection of something I believed in deeply — that the right piece of clothing, for a woman or a man, is not about fashion. It's about feeling at home in what you wear.

That is the standard at Aveline Dublin.

Every jacket. Every dress. Every shoe. Every bag. Chosen because it works on a real person, living a real life.

We are celebrating ten years this year. Ten years of choosing carefully. Of listening. Of growing with the people who trusted us.

This is my thank you — to everyone who placed an order, walked through our door, or simply believed that how you feel in your clothes matters.
